So....you would think after the New Kids concert, i didn't have a life. Nothing to write about?? Or maybe it is I have been full of fantastic fun stuff I haven't had TIME to write. I am gonna go with that ;)
First of all, I have been really busy trying to be the best Antioch Sequoit fan I can be. I have been perfecting my cheers, kicks, and hand motions. I have also been working on keeping myself from running onto the field and jumping out of the bleechers. This has not worked out very well as some people may have seen on t.v. I can't help it. I am loving every minute of this football season for Randy. I hope he sees that his family loves him so much that they sit through rain and bitter cold weather to cheer him on. I know we are sometimes embarrassing, but there is no other way I would want to spend my Friday or Saturday night. And I mean that truly. I love you Randy and I am soooooooooooooooo proud of you no matter what happens this Saturday...Now like the sign says in downtown antioch - go kick some ass!
Since the last time I wrote, I have visited my favorite hang out - Sundance Saloon. There is nothing like a little country music, the toothless mayor, sweaty men, and some liquid courage. Spending the night line dancing away for some reason is my idea of a good time. Oh yea, and imitating the twins is fun, too. I will one day be a rockette.
I also watched my first UFC fight while hanging out with Kristin. I picked who I wanted to win by figuring out which one had the smallest amount of cauliflower ear. Yum!
We have a new president!!! well....soon. I will always remember sitting on the couch bawling my eyes out clutching Renaldo when they announced Obama won. I hope Renaldo always remembers this moment, too and grows up realizing he can also become whatever he wants to be....well not really. he can only be a bunny. but, maybe he could be a braver bunny?
At school, there is always funny moments. Today I had a 4th grader ask me if I knew who the New Kids on the Block were. I said why of course! And why do you? She didn't answer, but instead began to sing EVERY WORD to Step By Step. She is my new best friend.
Well I must go. Guinness is barking at my reflection in the window right now. For some reason he won't just listen to me when I explain that it is me. It's like he doesn't understand English or something...

I WILL LOVE THE NEW KIDS FOREVER!
Well mom, I bet you never thought that comment would be so true! This past weekend I went to the best concert....ever. And this is not sarcasm haha.
To think so many years later I would be attending my first ever New Kids concert. The whole time I kept thinking how cheesy....yet how wonderful the whole idea was. To look around and see thousands of women (not girls) singing along to all of the songs, fist pumping away, and screaming like crazy with the sight of "THE LETTERS" was so interesting to see. For the first time in a long time I thought of nothing else but what I was there for...to see 5 of the most handsome men perform their old and new songs. For the first time in a long time I was not stressed about school, thinking about what I was going to teach at Sign class, worried about money, or all of the other everyday issues. I enjoyed every second of that concert. I sang my heart out. I danced. I screamed. I did not faint. But I was 8 years old again...or 13 years old again like when I tried to revive NKOTB.
I am happy that they stuck to their true identity. Jon is still a dork that never looks up. Donnie still is gangsta. Jordan still shows his abs minus the rat tail. Danny still looks like a monkey...but can break dance like crazy. Joe still fashions his smiley face leather jacket..and according to Lisa and many other women, is still the favorite.
Their music is still cheesy with lyrics like "Yea I'm like Swazy" or "Gotta know if you're mad at me before Gray's Anatomy".
They still allow their fans to wear oversized buttons. (Nothing like "the buttons and the pins and the loud fanfare!")
They still sing their oldies but goodies...with only minor dance move changes.. let's face it, their not so young anymore.
It was great to see my sisters having a great time, too. And everyone else for that matter.
Who would have thought an 80's - 90's group could make my day, my week, my month, maybe even my year :)

(Still) Not Forgotten
It is hard to believe that tomorrow will be 9/11....7 years ago and I can still remember perfectly everything that happened that day - from crowding around a t.v. in my english class, to worrying about an attack happening in Chicago, wondering where my family was and if everyone was ok, running to the gas station in fear of the prices, and lying on the living room floor next to dad while he sat in the green chair...stunned still hours later at the footage they replayed over and over. And now...tomorrow I will be remembering 9/11 and trying to explain to my students who were only 4 years old at the time. Sometimes it is hard for me to grasp the fact that my students have no idea what happened that day. They will never feel the way that I feel about it. Hopefully they will never have to experience something like that. It is life changing...

For my mommy on Mother's Day
I thought I would take a minute or two to share all the special things I love about my mom :) There is so much she has had to put up with, but still loves us! So here are a few of my favorite things.
1. She is always helping others - doing cancer walks, helping with SPRED, donating, etc.
2. She's bailed me out - helping me finish teaching materials while I was crying during student teaching at 11 oclock at night.
3. She takes our jokes even when it is usually about her (you know we love you...now in or out)
4. She loves us all just the same (well, that's what she says...but it's ok to admit it is me you love the most)
5. She is crafty....even when she has no choice but to make wedding invitations, place cards, do the flowers, programs, and on and on.
6. She says funny things (well that's just ducky cool, do you see this things attached to my ear)
7. She calls to check in.
8. She gives my school flowers to sell so I can raise money for our store.
9. She makes me dinner (and mike) when sometimes we just pop in to say hello.
10. She does crazy things just because I tell her to (dance around the kitchen table)
11. She teaches us lessons even when she has to do it the hard way (don't worry, I will have a good threat for my future children when they don't pick up their toys)
12. She likes the same t.v. shows as I do.
13. She loves my husband even when he talks about poop.
14. She's cleaned up my throw up and has taken care of me when I was sick.
15. She was my number one fan attending nearly all of my games and cheering me on.
16. She helped out at St. Victor's and Seton..making sure I was receiving the best education while sometimes doing crazy mom things (dressing up like cat in the hat and coming into my 8th grade classroom)
17. She made me a door for my bedroom in the basement.
18. She decorated the front lawn with paper bee's and a big sign for my 16th birthday.
19. She has cherished every crazy present I've given her (rocks with her name, mugs that say number one mom, pins that say number one mom, keychains that say number one mom, cards that say number one mom)
20. She still appreciates when I tell her she is the number one mom. I LOVE YOU MAMA C!
And Kelly....I didn't forget about you on Mother's Day. Here are a few things I cherish about you.
1. You have shown your sons the importance of saying I love you (everytime they tell me I love you I tear up)
2. You are not afraid to dance and sing....and your sons aren't, either.
3. You have taught Colin to proceed the word "Michelle" with "My Bell".
4. You forgive people for the poop in the tub, the poop in the pants, the poop on the floor, the poop in a bag coming at your face, the poop in tires...I just had to add that.
5. You are teaching your children to love country music.
6. You read to them every night.
7. You share your children with us...and let us return them most of the time in one piece.
8. You shower them with kisses.
Stacy and Allison....don't think I forgot about you. Just because your children have four legs, don't think you go unnoticed!
1. You forgive them for their accidents.
2. You dress them in funny outfits. (Well Stacy at least).
3. You clean up their throw up when they get car sick.
4. You take them for walks.
5. You spoil them with toys and treats.
Some of those things are eerily the same things said in Kelly and Mom's. The two of you will make excellent mother's in the future!
I love the four of you :)

For my newest brother
I am so excited about Allison and Brian's recent news. I realized, though, that Brian may not really be prepared for becoming an offical member of the Fagan clan. Here below I have listed some important facts, information, advice, suggestions he should know ahead of time. Hopefully this does not scare him away :)
1. When going on vacation, please remember to pack underwear.
2. Just accept that we think we are really funny. Please feel free to join in making fun of others to make ourselves feel better. (I am trying to do laps! You people).
3. Even if you don't really like the White Sox, keep it to yourself. You like them now.
4. When we go to amusement parks and there is a ride with no line, don't believe me when I say one more time. It will probably be 60.
5. Allison doesn't like to talk about tires. I am sure you know that by now.
6. You and Mike can't be on the same team during games anymore....there is something fishy about the Marilyn Monroe incident that I don't like...
7. the Fagan girls are always right.
8. Now you will be expected to help us move whenever we buy new houses, move out of apts., etc.
9. You must attend family meetings and be the notetaker.
10. Raygan games. When this time comes around, people can become very competitive. You better as well or people on your team will determine you the weakest link.
11. You have to know your music trivia. It is good if you know the year songs came out and how high they went on the chart....Dad Fagan likes to quiz ....I believe he is working on the 1980's right now. That is a good place to start studying.
12. When you get picked on or made fun of....it means we love you. We have a weird way of showing we care. At least I hope this is right because I get picked on ALL the time.
I am sure I will think of more things...but this is a good place to start. I am very happy to have you be a part of our family!!
